Fedor Gorbenko received his PhD in November 2025 from the laboratory of Jacob Corn, where he applied directed evolution to develop compact genome editing systems with improved efficiency in mammalian cells. This work expanded the toolkit of genome editors compatible with delivery constraints.
He previously earned his Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2018, where he worked in the laboratory of Professor Pavel Georgiev studying Polycomb-mediated gene repression in Drosophila. His current research focuses on applying compact genome editing technologies to therapeutic strategies for genetic diseases.
