Rachel Valenzuela

Rachel Valenzuela received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Davis, in 2016, in the laboratory of Dr. Peter Beal. Her graduate research focused on the chemical biology of RNA interference (RNAi) and using chemically modified siRNA to study off-target effects and RNA-protein interactions. Rachel joined the IGI staff as a Postdoctoral Fellow in July 2016, and is currently using the CRISPR/Cas9 system to study the factors involved in metabolic disorders in human and mouse models.
